The Fathers' Project

This project was designed to give teen fathers a voice. Society is more accustom to hearing the voice of teen mothers. After meeting several teen fathers I found it necessary to develop an art installation of large photographic portraits of young African American fathers with their babies.

I did video interviews of each father. I videotaped them interacting with their babies. I built two videos for the installation, a 45-minute video of all the fathers’ voices and a video of rolling type of statistics on African American men.
